Steve Nash calls Shai Gilgeous-Alexander the best Canadian NBA player ever


As the current MVP and defending champion, Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads this year’s MVP race again. He received an impressive compliment from a Hall of Fame guard and premier analyst Steve Nash. Amid injuries to his team, Gilgeous-Alexander continues to lead the Thunder’s offense on a high through three losses in four tries, including a 123-111 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As a Canadian-born former NBA guard and two-time MVPNash crowned SGA the best Canadian NBA player ever, he said, as part of a game in the studio that named Nash Canada’s bestby NBA on Prime.

Steve Nash was an eight-time All-Star, five-time assists champion and seven-time All-NBA guard and retired without winning a championship. Nash was part of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team as one of the top 75 players to ever play in the league.

While leading this year’s MVP race, Gilgeous-Alexander will look to lead the Thunder to their first back-to-back championship in franchise history.

Gilgeous-Alexander questioned the Thunder’s plan against the Timberwolves after losing the road on Thursday. In the rematch of the Western Conference Finals, SGA expected a very competitive matchup.

However, Gilgeous-Alexander questioned whether the Thunder were prepared to the best of their ability, he said during a postgame media availability, per Justin Martinez of the Oklahoman .

From one playoff opponent to another in the Nuggets, the Thunder will have their hands full on the road in a rematch of last year’s Western Conference semifinals on Sunday.
