Jamal Murray tore apart the recent NBA All-Star Game

The Denver Nuggets they usually only have one All-Star, and that’s Nikola Jokic. It’s made a team again, but the Nuggets will be sending another player to the Intuit Dome. Jamal Murray has been waiting for his chance to be an All-Star, and he will finally have the chance to represent his team, as well as the World Team, at the weekend’s festivities.

While Murray is happy to be an All-Star, he hasn’t liked how the game has been played, especially over the past few years. It’s a conversation that has been brought up again and again, and there have been several changes to the format to make it more competitive, but to no avail. Murray recently talked about the lack of hustle in the game, but he plans to changing the narrative when he steps on the field.

“I really lost interest in the All-Stars just watching whatever they do there. I’d rather go on vacation if we’re going to play basketball … I’d like to play (hard),” Murray said.

It will be interesting to see if the new Team USA vs Team World improves things, but the only thing that will improve the game is if the players actually compete.

Aside from the lack of hype, Murray talked about what being an All-Star means to him, and it seems to be a huge accomplishment not only for him, but for his family as well.

“Honestly, I’m really happy for my dad. He really wanted me to succeed,” Murray said.

Now that Murray has secured his first All-Star, he’s looking to pull off another accomplishment that takes into account his entire season.

“I want to be All-NBA. I feel like that’s a bigger reward … your game shows all year in the playoffs,” Murray said.
