Chris Paul trades nowhere in sight

The The Los Angeles Clippers were playing some have improved basketball since the calendar turned to 2026, closing in on the .500 mark after their disastrous start to the season. The team’s resurgence has silenced speculation that they might look like sellers the upcoming NBA trade deadlinewhich is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

However, one player many thought was already moved at this point is Chris Paulwho was sent off the team during an earlier trip.

Now, more information is coming to light about where things stand on Paul’s front.

“We know they want to move on from Chris Paul and Kobe Brown. Bogdan Bogdanovic is also another deal that I think provides the most financial flexibility … as it stands, I’m not hearing anything about any trade for Chris Paul,” Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter, reported via Clutch Scoops.

Azarly cited the league-wide Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes as a reason why teams are hesitant to make moves at this time.

Paul remains a member of the Clippers’ roster, but has not been with the team since he was bizarrely sent home between the game against the Miami Heat and the game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Since then, the Clippers have turned things around, and would be in the postseason if the regular year ended today as playoff members.

Meanwhile, Paul didn’t produce great production during his limited playing time with the Clippers earlier this year, so it doesn’t appear that other teams are lining up to acquire his services.

Still, the Clippers would clearly rather move him and get something in return than continue to pay him to not show up.

Either way, the Clippers will next take the court on Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers.
