Insider speculates on Pistons, Celtics

The The NBA trade deadline is just days away, andnd two Eastern Conference teams could be interested in adding a grizzled veteran who knows how to compete for a championship.
Insider Jake Fisher of The Stein Line recently speculated that it is Detroit Pistons or Boston Celtics might be intrigued potential trade for Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green if the 35-year-old is shipped as the Dubs pursue Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“So where would that leave Green if he’s done with the Bucks? Could his hometown Pistons see the Michigan State alum as an ideal playoff addition compared to more shooters like Michael Porter Jr.? Would Boston consider trading Anfreni Simmons for him? Those last two ideas, to be clear, are just thinking out loud, but these scenarios are kind of your front row thinking. The front office’s chief strategist, I can assure you, is already trying to get to grips with,” Fisher wrote.
Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints recently reported that The Warriors could be open to a trade for Green in a potential deal for Giannis, or as part of a larger plan that would allow them to acquire assets that would later help them acquire the Bucks’ All-Star.
“Look, without Jimmy, the Warriors are not going to make it to the NBA Finals, even if they added Giannis right now,” the executive told ClutchPoints. “If you use Draymond and get more funding, you can make the biggest blockbuster and leave these other teams who want Giannis scrambling for answers. There’s no doubt there are those who would immediately offer a first-round pick for Draymond to make an immediate title run.
I 100 percent believe there are teams that would essentially help the Warriors get Giannis if it meant getting Green for the next three or four months to win a title.
When asked about the possibility of a trade before the deadline, Green offered a mature response.
“I’ve been here 14 years. I have no reason to sit and worry about leaving. But if I get traded, that’s part of the job,” Green told reporters.
The next few days could drastically change the NBA landscape. While it’s unknown how the Warriors will proceed, contenders such as the Celtics and Pistons may be monitoring Green’s situation.
