It was another frustrating loss against Miami, which is the last home game before the trade deadline, where the team is actively pursuing a superstar in Antetokounmpo. Since Adebayo is the captain of the team, he would reveal his message to the team at a time of uncertainty for the players.
“Control what you can control. And that’s a tough thing, because it’s easier said than done,” Adebayo said after posting 16 points and 14 rebounds against Atlanta. “You try to ease guys’ minds just, like, I tell them, ‘winning makes it easier at the trade deadline,’ or whatever happens, makes it easier for everybody. So for us this Thursday. See what happens, but control what you can control.”

Adebayo would end by saying, “I can’t control what’s going on up there,” as he pointed to the office, which was run by president Pat Riley. With Antetokounmpo being the proverbial “whale” the organization is looking for, the team has also been linked to Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant.
Bam Adebayo on what was frustrating about the Heat

While it is rumors about Vručin will continuethere is no denying that the existing players on the team are trying to produce a better product on the floor. Tuesday was another case of Miami not being able to defend consistently, which started with the offense being in sync.
Adebayo told ClutchPoints after Sunday’s 43-point win over the Chicago Bulls that what bothered the team was playing well one night and falling off the next. After Tuesday, he would come in what exactly was frustrating.
“It’s just frustrating because we can still win by 115,” Adebayo said. “We basically won in almost every category except for threes, and as a team we have to realize that we’re going to have nights where we don’t hit threes, so we have to really lock in and do the little things.”
You would ask Bam Adebayo about his comments in the last game that they were frustrated with great outings followed by meaningless defeats.
“It’s just frustrating because we can still win by 115 … so we’ve got to really lock in and do the little things ….”

“We just have to keep improving,” Jaquez told ClutchPoints. “The season doesn’t end today. We’ve still got a lot left. As much as this sucks and we’re not happy about it, we’ve got to stay positive, stick together and figure this thing out.”

Erik Spoelstra about what heat should “win”
While it is Heat view to avoid eighth seed purgatory and with another trip to the tournament to play for, the team is looking for consistency, although it has been difficult with players in and out of the lineup. Heading into the Atlanta loss, Miami was missing Norman Powell for the third straight game, Andrew Wiggins is late and Tyler Hero continues to miss time with a rib injury.
Although Spoelstra reduced the performance to hurt brings them back, with his reasoning that the entire NBA deals with it, he addressed the same mistake that hurt the team time and time again. That’s how the Heat’s defense is affected by their lackluster starts on offense, which is something the team has to work on “to win.”
“So we just have to win this one,” Spoelstra told ClutchPoints. “We’ve got to get better with that. We’ve got to get better with our consistency. You know, we won back-to-back games once in January. This was a great opportunity to take a step forward. We didn’t. They played great, you know, moved the ball, made us gamble.”
“I don’t think we really helped ourselves defensively, we really weren’t down, buckled down, ready to play the way we’re capable of, and then they just buried us from the three-point line,” Spoelstra continued.
Asked Erik Spoelstra about the Heat’s inconsistency and what led to another loss.
“We’re a very good defensive team, except when we’re not shooting… So we’ve just got to win this one…. We’ve got to be better with our consistency…” #HeatNation

Erik Spoelstra was asked if players coming in and out with injuries were affecting the Heat’s consistency. He would downplay that notion, saying that the entire NBA deals with it.
He said it would be the perfect night to “win in a blowout” because of the 2006 title celebrations. #HeatNation pic.twitter.com/KSNKiSkkma

The Hawks shot 48.5 percent from the field, but made 20 3-pointers in 50 attempts, which compared to Miami, a team that hit just eight from deep. Miami’s next game is Friday against the Boston Celtics, although all eyes are on Thursday at the trade deadline as the team is 27-25, which puts them in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
