Austin Reeves gives hilarious breakdown of injury pain

Austin Reaves is back, and he’s bringing his wit with him. After missing 19 games with a strained left calf, c Los Angeles Lakers guard finally back in action on Tuesday night, and he wasted no time reminding everyone why he’s a fan favorite, both for his play and his postgame quotes.
The Lakers cruised to a 125-109 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center, but for Reaves, the real victory was simply an escape boredom on the side. Speaking to reporters after the game, Reaves gave a hilarious overview of his five-week layoff.
“I’ve been bored for a little over a month now. Sitting on the bench sucks,” Reaves joked. “Imagine if all I did for a month and a half was yell at the referees. That’s not fun. I’d rather be yelling at them on the field.”

Despite the dismissalReaves looked sharp in his return. He came off the bench on a minutes limit, scoring 15 points and one assist in just 21 minutes of play. Reaves shot 8 of 10 from the free throw line and hit a timely 3-pointer in the third quarter that helped negate a brief Brooklyn rally.
The Lakers (30-19) dominated from the rebound, opening the game on a 45-23 tear in the first quarter. LeBron James led the way with 25 points and three rebounds, while Luka Dončić added 24 points and six boards. Jake LaRavia also continued his strong play, pouring in 18 points. For the Brooklyn Nets, Michael Porter Jr. led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds, but they couldn’t overcome a Lakers team that shot over 80% from the field in the first frame.
Lakers coach JJ Redick stressed how much the team missed Reaves’ “competitive spirit,” and his return comes at the perfect time as Los Angeles looks to solidify its playoff position in a crowded Western Conference.
