Dallas trades Anthony Davis to Wizards in blockbuster deal

The Dallas Mavericks are allegedly trading Anthony Davis Washington Wizards, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.

“WORRY: The Dallas Mavericks are trading 10-time NBA All-Stars Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum to the Washington Wizards for Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malachi Branham, Marvin Bagley III, 2 first-round picks and 3 second-rounders, sources tweeted to Charani ESaPN.

Charania later discovered the specific picks the Mavs will get in the Davis-led trade.

“Dallas gets the Thunder’s 2026 first-round pick and the Warriors’ protected 2030 first-round pick from the Wizards in this deal, along with 2026 (Phoenix), 2027 (Chicago) and 2029 (Houston) second-rounders,” sources told ESPN.

Khris Middleton and two first-round picks highlight the Mavs’ comeback. Anthony Davis’ trade value isn’t what it once was, but Dallas still managed to get a respectable return in the deal.

The Mavericks trade Anthony Davis almost exactly one year after acquiring him

Rumors of a Davis trade have swirled for months. The injury led some to believe a deal would not go through, but sources told ClutchPoint that a trade remains a possibility. Of course – almost exactly one year after The Mavs traded Davis for Luka Doncic — AD changes to Wizards.

It’s been a tumultuous year in the world of Dallas basketball, to say the least. Fans are still frustrated by Doncic’s trade, but have embraced rookie Cooper Flagg.

Anthony Davis ends his Mavs career with 29 games played in the regular season.
