LeBron James represents HBCUs with Florida A&M-inspired Nikes

During Convincing victory of the Lakers over the Brooklyn Nets, LeBron James selected for rap HBCUs. James wore the Florida A&M-branded edition of the LeBron 23, a nod to the institution he’s partnered with over the past few years.
In 2021, James and Nike entered into a six-year partnership with the institution, making it the first university to partner with a James and Nike clothing line. The move was also significant because it came after Florida A&M moved from the MEAC to the SVAC. According to a report by HBCU Gameday at the time, the Rattlers’ connection to James came after Florida A&M was poised to leave Nike, a partnership they’d had since 2016 following the expiration of Russell’s MEAC conference deal.
Florida A&M was about to go to Adidas, which would have given Florida A&M a $125,000 signing bonus in freebies as well as several significant performance initiatives. With Nike and LeBron James signed with Florida A&M, he was seen on March 3, 2021 rocking the FAMU-themed editions of the LeBron 18.
He has been supporting the university ever sinceincluding cheering the 2024 football team after they got theirs victory rings The Celebration Bowl through Howard University. In partnership with LeBron James and Nike, all 14 Florida A&M athletic programs, as well as the Marching 100, are outfitted in LeBron James signature uniforms and apparel.
The university also benefits from the publicity James gets when he wears the players’ special shoes, as he did last night. The Lakers will play the 76ers tomorrow at 10 p.m
