After two overtimes, the Knicks make the Big 8 against the Nuggets

Shov devan! Jamal Murray is in turmoil at the beginning of the match in Madison Square Garden and his 20 points (!) in the first quarter alone allows Nuggetsaggressive, to return from -9. And so to compensate for the great external success Nixon the mark of much better distributed (30-28).
As for the All-Star interior, Nikola Jokic suffers from a knee scare, the same one that caused him to miss a month of competition, and Karl-Anthony Towns he ends up covered in blood, after opening his bow. He promises!
The crossover between the two teams continues, Nikola Jokić blacks out the statistics as usual to reinforce Denver etc New York sticking to the activity of his Landry Shamet – Mitchell Robinson duo coming off the bench. The return of Karl-Anthony Towns allowed the home team to finish the half better, with an 11-2 run that gave them the lead (55-53).
The first shift comes midway through the third quarter. With his assists and points, Nikola Jokić brings the Nuggets to +7, but the Knicks will respond with… 20-4! The New York 3-point address is still high at 15 points Jalen Brunson during that period, together with the loss of the opponent’s ball, they changed the momentum of the game (88-82).
The All-Stars kept their place
Still dominant in the paint, but now able to punish from distance, with Julian Struther or Tim Hardaway Jr., and reduce New York’s percentages, Denver’s players improve the score and that’s a new chest to chest which begins.
The opposition of the Murray/Jokic duo and the Brunson/Towns duo is a feast for the eyes, each going shot for shot, and in the last possession Nikola Jokic thinks he will win, only his 3-point attempt is disastrous. And that’s why the match goes into extra time (108-108).
The atmosphere is charged at the Garden and Jamal Murray continues to feed off of it, but Karl-Anthony Towns is there to respond with his activities under the circle. Even after six fouls, he thought he had scored the game-winning basket in the final minute. The problem is that Mikal Bridges fouls Christian Brown with 0.3 seconds left, while the siren has already sounded, and the referees cool the Knicks, who started to celebrate, before Brown evened it up on free throws (119-119).

In the second overtime, Jalen Brunson finally took matters into his own hands, trying to harass his defenders from all sides, and started an 8-0 run that put the Nuggets away. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray try to restart the machine, but mostly produce failures. Unlike Mikal Bridges, who finally woke up, it is Brunson who brings the point again (134-127).
For the first time this season, New York has reeled off eight straight wins, and January’s rough patch is well and truly forgotten. Jalen Branson (42 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds) and Karl-Anthony Towns (24 points, 12 rebounds) have plenty of that. Denver, for its part, has lost three in a row, despite Jamal Murray (39 points, 6 assists) and Nikola Jokic (30 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists).
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Jalen Brunson, “Captain Clutch”. It is no coincidence that he is one of the (most) determined players in the league. Unlike Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, Jaylen Branson didn’t seem to suffer from fatigue and it was he who put the Knicks on their backs in the second overtime. After Karl-Anthony Towns’ six-foul exit, previously deciding with his skill and rebounds. In a match where four All-Stars responded, and not just a little, “JB” finished as the best scorer and came close to a triple-double, to offer his team the eighth success in a row.
Nikola Jokić equal to Oskar Robertson. In triple-doubles, Nikola Jokić will not necessarily have a great match. At least, not entirely, his playing time limit was not respected. Undoubtedly, his lack of rhythm caused him to miss overtime, as he made countless 3-pointers (1/13!) and missed valuable free throws. Physically controlled by Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson on the rebound, “The Joker” still took advantage of the opportunity to sign his 181st triple-double, as Oscar Robertson. Russell Westbrook (207) is closing in on…
Peyton Watson got hurt ? Here’s the bad news of the night for the Nuggets: Early in the fourth quarter, Peyton Watson stopped while running toward the basket for a layup and immediately grabbed the back of his thigh. He immediately returned to the locker room and a malfunction cannot be ruled out, while Cam Johnson and Aaron Gordon are still in the infirmary.
Spencer Jones has reached his limit. The Nuggets’ early-season surprise, along with the Peyton Watson revelation, is that Spencer Jones will no longer be able to appear in David Adelman’s rotation until his contract is transformed. Currently on a two-way contract, he could be activated for a maximum of 50 matches this season and has now reached this total (having entered the game 46 times). It should be noted, however, that he came out injured after a head clash with Karl-Anthony Towns at the very end of the first quarter.
