John Cena’s Hall of Fame induction gets a surprise update after his retirement

Unlike some sports, there is no minimum number of years out of action needed to be inducted into the VVE Hall of Fame — but that doesn’t mean John Cena will succeed after retirement in 2025.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, Cena is it is not expected to be introduced in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026. Currently, only Stephanie McMahon will be inducted.

This might come as a surprise, but his induction one day is inevitable. Maybe he wants to give the fans some more time after his retirement.

One day, Cena will enter the WWE Hall of Fame. He’s one of the biggest superstars of all time, and there’s no way he wasn’t inducted.

In some sports, athletes must wait a certain amount of time to enter. However, WWE is different in that Superstars can be inducted while still actively on the roster.

Rey Mysterio, 51, is one of the most prominent examples of this. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, at the head of his class of 2023. Konnan inducted him during the ceremony.

His class also included notable names like The Great Muta and Staci Keibler. Andy Kaufman was the celebrity and Tim White received the Warrior Award.

Cena has only been retired for a few months. His last match took place during the main event on Saturday night, December 13, 2025.

He took on Gunther, who had already retired Goldberg that year, in his last match. Despite his best efforts, Cena was retired after coming to the Ring General, leaving the crowd shocked.

Since his retirement, Cena has not stepped foot in the ring. However, he will soon appear in the films Coyote Vs. Acme and Matchbox: The Movie.
