Magic boss feels like he’s in ‘Never Ending Day’

Jeff VeltmanThe Magic finally decided to send Tyus Jones to Dallas during the trade deadline. However, President Orlando, Jeff Veltmanconfirms that he is really not happy with his team’s season…

“I don’t like the current situation in the team”, he confidedMagic is only 7th in the East with 26 wins and 24 losses. “We’re not playing well and I don’t think we’ve been playing well for a while. I guess our fans are frustrated with the way we’re playing and I’m frustrated too.”

Jeff Veltman claims he was aggressive at the trade deadline and believes he came close to making a trade several times. Except he didn’t want to transfer members of his hard core.

“We are aggressive 365 days a year”he stated. “We’re not afraid to take risks, as demonstrated last summer (to recover Desmond Bain). The answer to frustration is not just to act for the sake of action. It must be understood that, given our current squad, contracts and schedule, to take any meaningful action, we have to shake the core.”

“When this team is healthy, it’s really, really good.”

Florida’s team president remains “optimistic” about it Jalen Suggs, Desmond Bain, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero etc Wendell Carter Jr they can aim very high. The problem is that the five starters have only managed to play 11 games together since the start of the season. Last time on December 7th.

“It’s worrying”admitted Jeff Veltman to numerous injuries to the starters, which are repeated this season after he already made it difficult for the Magic last season. “All teams have injuries, but these are long injuries. All I can say is they’re soft tissue injuries. This is the NBA and it happens sometimes. In the end, I really feel like I’m in the movie ‘Endless Day’ this season. The only difference is I think we’re better this year because of Desmond Bain, he’s really healthy, but I hate repeating myself.”

It remains to be seen when that will be, with Franz Wagner still nursing his ankle, on which he forced.
