Toronto made a ‘big push’ for Walker Kessler before the trade deadline

The Toronto Raptors they were one of the teams at the trade deadline that wanted to make some noise, but ultimately failed to do so. They finished trading for Chris Paulbut it is uncertain what the future holds for the veteran point guard and whether he will play or not.
The The Raptors have been in trade rumors linked to Domantas Sabonisbut they didn’t seem to have what it took to make a big push for him. In the end, the Sacramento Kings made it known that Sabonis is staying with the team after the deadline.
Aside from Sabonis, the Raptors were rumored to make a big push Walker Kessleraccording to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points. Although they failed to get it before the deadline, they they still have a chance in the offseason.
“If the Raptors really want to pursue and revisit Walker Kessler in the offseason, he will be a restricted free agent. Utah is expected to offer him a long-term deal, but Kessler will have several suitors,” Siegel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The Jazz now have a loaded frontcourt after acquiring Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Memphis Grizzlies, and it’s uncertain if they plan to keep all of those pieces on the line. Kessler is sure to attract a few suitors during the offseason, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were able to lure him away from the Jazz by offering him a big contract.
The Raptors will definitely be one of those teams, and they would have to trade Kessler for him to join them to significantly improve their chances in the Eastern Conference. They have surprised many this season, but the only thing missing from their lineup is solid center play with Jakob Poeltl out with an injury.
