Malik Monk shows sixth man prowess with a 3-point barrage

The The Sacramento Kings haven’t had a great season. Sacramento still had a fantastic performance from the running back on Friday Malik Monk. Monk drained the 3’s with ease, as the Kings tangled with the Los Angeles Clippers.

LA ended up beating the Kings, 114-111. Monk, however, did his best to help his team win. He finished the game with 18 points and six three-pointers. He was on fire as the game began.

The Kings fell to 12-41 on the season with the loss. Sacramento has dropped 11 games in a row. This one was an absolute heartbreaker, considering the Kings controlled the first quarter and led at halftime.

The Clippers are now 24-27 after the win over Sacramento.

The Kings are looking for wins

Sacramento definitely had a season to forget. The Kings have struggled defensively and are at the bottom of the Western Conference standings as a result.

Monk has been a bright spot for the clubwhile he was in Sactovno. He is averaging 12 points per game this season. That’s actually lower than his average from last year. Monk’s minutes have also dropped this season.

The team hasn’t won a game since Jan. 16 against the Washington Wizards. It’s Sacramento currently on its worst losing streak since the 1997-98 season, according to NBC Sports.

“That’s not far from the longest losing streak in the Sacramento era (13) and three shy of the franchise record 14-game losing streak,” the paper said.

Kings fans are hoping the team can salvage a very frustrating season. Sacramento has a core of young talent, including big man Domantas Sabonis. Sabonis did not play in the Clippers game because of back pain.

The Kings are looking to end their tough losing streak as they next face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. Time will tell if Sacramento can pull off a much-needed win.
