When will Chris Middleton debut in Dallas?

Chris Middleton was one of the key pieces included in Dallas Mavericks‘ trade with the Washington Wizards that sent Anthony Davis to Washington. However, with the trade done, Middleton is yet to make his debut with his new team. A new report sheds light on when he could finally play for Dallas.

Despite joining the Mavericks before the game against the San Antonio Spurs, Middleton will not make his debut on Saturday. Instead, we hope the 34-year-old striker aims debut on Tuesday, Feb. 10, when Dallas plays the Phoenix Suns, according to Christian Clark of the Athletics.

“Kris Middleton joined the Mavericks in San Antonio today. He hopes to play Tuesday in Phoenix.”

This is the second time the 14-year veteran has been traded in two seasons. He was initially traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Wizards at the 2024-25 trade deadline. Then Washington traded Middleton to the Mavericks just before the deadline this season.

Khris Middleton is likely to step in as a backup small forward and/or power forward in Dallas when he eventually makes his debut. It’s a similar role he played for the Wizards, so not much should change for the three-time All-Star. However, his play could potentially take a dip with the Mavericks.

He has managed to play 34 games so far this season, as Middleton has been forced to miss some games due to injury. In the games he played, Khris Middleton averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while shooting 43.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point line.
