Alperen Sengun apologizes for calling a female clerk a ‘bitch’

The The Houston Rockets met some turbulence before I get back on track Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. recently, the great man Alperen Sengun drew negative press after repeatedly calling official Jenna Reno a ‘buck’ during the team’s loss to the Boston Celtics.
After winning in Oklahoma City on Saturday, Sengun seized the opportunity to apologize for his actions.
“That was immature of me,” Sengun said, per ESPN’s Tim McMahon. “It was just in the moment, and I said some things I shouldn’t have said, but I felt bad about it.
Sengun ended up being ejected from that game against the Celtics, which was probably the lowest point of the Rockets’ season so far considering Boston was back-to-back and playing without Jaylen Brown.
“Sometimes you can’t control yourself, but I should have known better,” Sengun said. “But I fixed it, and then I went to the locker room and apologized. I shook (her)’s hand and said it would never happen again. It happened in the heat of the moment. Then she realized, and it was good on both ends.”
Sengun played well in the Rockets’ win over the Thunder on Saturday, making up for Kevin Durant’s rare off night, though the Grim Reaper made a clutch layup down the stretch to help keep Oklahoma City at bay.
The Rockets were quiet at the NBA trade deadline, doing nothing to address the lack of a true point guard with Fred VanVleet on the sidelines, or the gaping hole left in the frontcourt following the recent season-ending injury to big man Steven Adams.
Either way, the Rockets will next take the floor on Tuesday night at home against the Los Angeles Clippers.
