The heat has fun with the Wizards

Still plugged into the AC, the Heat enjoyed a bit of a health break with a 31-point win in Washington. One player broke the screen: Kasparas Jakucionis.
The Wizards returned to their Capital One Arena after a tough loss to the Nets, and frankly, they weren’t at their best as only six players were off the injured list this afternoon. Finally, Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, Kishon George and Tristan Vukcevic were declared fit, and the start of the meeting was quite encouraging. The Wizards played without a complex and quickly took the lead, leading by as many as nine points in the first quarter. Miami, however, reacted quickly and ended the period in the lead (37–33).
The second quarter represents a real turning point. The heat imposes its intensity, largely dominates the jump and continues the “run”. Yakutsionis is hitting threes and even Bam Adebayo is hitting from long range. Then the inner All-Star goes to posterize Kel’El Ware for a touch, and he knocks him out! The gap is gradually increasing and at the break Miami already started with a lead of 22 points (74–52).
Back in the locker room, the Wizards are getting worse. Miami’s defensive pressure caused numerous turnovers, with Washington committing ten turnovers in the third quarter alone. The Heat took advantage of the opportunity to further accelerate and exceed the 30-point lead (107–75) at the end of the period.
The last quarter is just a formality for Miami, which takes its lead without forcing. Wizards, lacking a solution and affected by several injuries during the match, were unable to reverse the trend. The Heat finally won by a wide margin: 132–101.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Yakutsionis explodes. The Heat rookie had a perfect performance from behind the arc with 22 points on 6/6 from 3-point range. Miami’s offense is as rampant as ever, and this is the 14th time the team has reached the 130-point mark. That’s a record.
Wizards injuries. Already without Treo Young and Anthony Davis, the Wizards lost Kyshawn George and Bilal Koulibaly to injury. The most worrying thing is for the first one, the victim of a major ankle sprain. For the Frenchman, it’s a slap in the face.
