Jayson Tatum is taking a big step toward a potential return with G League practice
After the exciting news from Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum continues 5-on-5 work during recoveryThe six-time All-Star will train with the Maine Celtics, Boston’s G League team, in his next step back from an Achilles injury. The the team announced Tatum’s stay in Maine, per X Celtics, formerly Twitter.
Jayson Tatum will be designated to participate in portions of (Maine Celtics) practice at the Auerbach Center this afternoon,” the Celtics announced. “Following this practice, Tatum will be immediately invited to Boston Celticswhere he will continue the rehabilitation process.”
Tatum is not expected to play in a game for the Celtics’ G League team. At least not yet, but it’s an encouraging step toward his return.
Brad Stevens on Celtics’ no-pressure approach with Jayson Tatum

Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens says there’s no pressure on Jayson Tatum to come back from injury. After Tatum was reportedly undecided about whether to return this season amid a successful year for the Celtics, it appears he has decided to return before the end of the regular season.
Still, Stevens reminds Tatum there is no rushhe told ESPN.
“Obviously, any team with Jayson Tatum is going to be better,” Stevens said Friday, via ESPN . “If he needs it, I’ll tell him every day. Because any team – all 30 of us – would be so much better with him on the team.”
“Those are just things that go through everybody’s mind. In all our conversations, he’s confident that he can improve the team… He’s crossed a lot of thresholds, he’s doing more and more, and he’s going to continue to do more and more. There’s no pressure from us. But there’s also not going to be any of us just saying, why not?’ Will be: When he’s ready, he’s ready.
The Celtics have won five of their last six games.
