Julius Randle tied Kevin Love on the all-time list in the win against the Hawks

The Minnesota Timberwolves put on one of their most complete performances of the season on Monday night, fueled by a historic trip from Julius Randle. In a 138–116 win over the Atlanta Hawks, Randle has cemented his name in the Timberwolves franchise history.
Randle finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, recording his third triple-double with Minnesota. The performance moved him into a tie for third on the Timberwolves’ all-time triple-double list, matching the mark he set Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson.
The milestone quickly drew attention across the league. In a post shared by StatMuse on X (formerly known as Twitter), Randle’s stat line was prominent next to his place in franchise history.

The Timberwolves took control of the game early. After Atlanta guard CJ McCollum sparked the Hawks’ opening drive, Minnesota responded with a dominant 40–18 run that stretched from late in the first quarter to midway through the second. This run established a decisive 79–52 halftime lead that effectively put the game out of reach for any opponent.
Anthony Edwards led all scorers with 30 points, including 21 in the first half, as Minnesota’s offense overwhelmed Atlanta. The Timberwolves also got strong contributions from outside of their starters, continuing the trend of improved depth.
Newly acquired guard Ayo Dosunmu added 21 points off the bench in just his second game with the team, providing a spark and enhancing the Timberwolves’ versatility. His scoring helped Minnesota maintain momentum whenever the starters rotated.
The match was not without incidents. An on-court altercation escalated early in the fourth quarter between Minnesota center Naz Reed and Atlanta forward Mohamed Gueye, leading to both players being ejected.
Atlanta played the contest in shorthand, missing Jaylen Johnson, Jonathan Cumminga and Dyson Daniels due to injury. Despite solid individual efforts from McCollum and former Timberwolf Nikhil Alexander-Walker, the Hawks never recovered from the early deficit.
For the Timberwolves, the win snapped a recent skid and underlined how valuable Randle has become. His ability to score, rebound and assist continues to shape the identity of the Timberwolves as they push forward in the season.
