Isaiah Stewart’s Isaiah Stewart’s mic drop shows why he came off the bench to fight

The Detroit Pistons and the Charlotte Hornets engaged in quite a conflict on Monday night. After all, the Pistons won 110-104thanks in part to the exploits of Cade Cunningham.
Still, the fight is all anyone talks about. Four players were ejected from the game. One of which he was Isaiah Stewart. After he was kicked out, Stewart evoked the spirit from the Motor City when explaining why he was involved in the fight, per VCNC’s Nick Carboni.
“You don’t expect me to sit on the bench…Fuck, I got called up to Detroit.”
Things came to a head in the third quarter when Jalen Duren shoved Moussa Diabate after a foul. Afterwards, both teams had to separate. Then Stewart came off the bench and attacked Miles Bridges after Bridges hit Jalen Duren.

In the end, Stewart, Bridges, Duren and Diabate were all sent off. If that wasn’t enough, Hornets head coach Charles Lee was ejected for arguing with the referees over the call.
Stewart is famous get into fights earlier, according to the Detroit Free Press/Yahoo Sports. 2021 infamously got into it with LeBron James during the Pistons/Lakers game. James hit Stewart as he was going for a jump shot, which left him covered in blood. Stewart then had to be restrained by his teammates.
He ended up being suspended for two games.
Meanwhile, this is the latest example of the Pistons being linked to fights. Certainly, the Bad Boy Pistons of the late 1980s and early 1990s were known for their punishing physicality.
Then who could forget Malice at the Palace in 2004 against the Indiana Pacers?
