Ousmane Dieng, the record to prepare for the reunion
Walking from franchise to franchise in the final hours of the trade deadline, Ousmane Dieng finally landed in Milwaukee, and the French winger probably had no idea he would do so well!
The former Thunder winger set a career high with 5 of 8 three-pointers last night in Orlando. Like Cam Thomas, he really hurt the Magic with 17 points in 23 minutes, and his smile spoke volumes in the locker room.
“Honestly, I just tried to play the right way, take open shots, put them in and move the ball.” he answers about his performance. “Obviously it feels good. But I’m working on it and I know I’m going to shoot every time I open. I’m working on it and I know it’s going to work.”
Arriving a week ago in Milwaukee, he is learning to play with his new teammates, especially Cam Thomas, the newest addition to the team, and very effective last night against the Magi. “Everyone is cool, from the management to the players… It’s going very well. I’m also learning to play with Kem, and it’s easier to have someone new with me, to learn all that. It’s simpler.”
Talking trash tonight in OKC?
Making a three-pointer on a step back in the second half, he saw his new team’s entire bench light up, starting with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“I saw them and I smiled. It was great to have fun with everyone and above all to win. That’s the most important thing” he says before talking about this opportunity in Milwaukee. “I spent four years in Oklahoma City on a very rich team, and it wasn’t easy every day. But I know my job. I know I give my best every game. So yeah, it’s a great opportunity for me and I’m going to take advantage of it every time I step on the field.”
And this Thursday night, before the All-Star Game ends, he returns to OKC to challenge his former partners!
“It will be nice!” I spent four years with these guys, so it’s going to be really fun. Maybe a little trash talk… I can’t wait” he concludes.
