Let me run this All-Star Weekend 2026traditional Rising Stars Challenge is based on the same format as the four previous editions. So it’s a mini-tournament with four teams, three of which are coached by Hall of Famers. Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, etc Tracy McGradyand from the best G League players by Austin Rivers.

Each team consists of seven freshmen or sophomores, with one team made up entirely of young players playing in the G-League.

As for the regulations, the two semi-finals are played with 40 points, while the final is played with 25 points.

DEMI-FINAL N°1: TEAM MELO / TEAM AUSTIN

Tim Melo (Carmelo Anthony) : Reed Shepard (Rockets), Stephon Castle (Spurs), Dylan Harper (Spurs), Jeremiah Fiers (Pelicans), Colin Murray-Boyles (Raptors), Ace Bailey (Jazz), Donovan Klingan (Blazers), Cooper Flagg (Mavs, bless).

Aliyah Martin (Raptors 905), Tristen Newton (Vipers), Young Hansen (Remix), Jahmir Young (Skyforce), David Jones Garcia (Spurs, injured), Mack McClung (Bulls, injured).

It’s a connection between two Connecticut alumni, Donovan Clingan (9 points, 2 rebounds) i Stephen Castle (6 points, 5 assists), which gives control over the match to Tim Melo (14-6). The Austin team then responds with a barrage of 3-point shots, Janic Konan Niederhauser (11 points, 2 rebounds), Yang Hansen (10 points, 2 rebounds), i Aliyah Martin (6 points) twice launched 18-5 for the lead (24-21).

The two insides, Conan Niederhauser and Hansen, continue to insult Team Melo and put their team within 10 points of victory (30-26). With their backs against the wall, Carmelo Anthony’s men are recovering. Two triples Reed Sheppard (9 points) and the ever-present Stephon Castle power a 10-2 run that knocks out Team Austin It’s Dylan Harper who comes to deal a one-on-one blow to his brother Ron Harper Jr. to send Team Melo to the finals.

In a match between cousins, Team T-Mac comes out on top thanks to their skill from afar. Kel’el Ware (7 points), Cam Spenceretc Tre Johnson (8 points) ten meters away forces Tim Vince to take a timeout (15-7). On the trail VJ Edgecombe (17 points, 5 rebounds) i Matas Buzelis (6 points), Team Vince is back on track. Clumsiness of Zachary Risacher (0/5 on the shot) even allows them to get back to the tie (24-24).

Jailon Tison (8 points, 3 rebounds) stops the bleeding, but Team Vince continues. Jaylen Wells (6 points, 3 rebounds) to 3 points, Matas Buzelis (4 points) au allei hoop, et Kishawn George (6 points, 3 rebounds) brought their team within 6 points of victory (34-29) by mistake. VJ Edgecombe then leaves Team T-Mac no chance. He scores the last ten points of the match to confirm his qualification for the final.

FINAL: TEAM MELO / TEAM VINCE

As in the semi-final, it is of great size Donovan Clingan (6 points) which allows Team Melo to get the best start (9-4). Matas Buzelis (4 points), Egor Deminetc Carter Bryant (5 points) then respond with 11-2 to reverse the trend (15-11). As in the first match, Dylan Harper (8 points, 5 rebounds) is taking matters into his own hands for Team Melo. His triple continues the match and brings the two teams back to back (17-17).

Two caviars Derrick Queen (2 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) seems to favor Team Vince, but Reed Sheppard from afar and Stephen Castle (4 points, 3 rebounds) in the middle distance keep the suspense intact (23-22). Then both teams can win. Team Melo looks for a 3-point shot, but they have to settle for a layup (24-23). VJ Edgecombe (6 points) then attacks the circle. He draws a foul and gives his team the win with two free throws.
