How does Norman Powell as an All-Star this season “finish the story”?
As it is The Miami Heat are in the midst of a much-needed All-Star breakone of the few players representing the team this weekend is Norman Powell. With a Heat star in Powell, he’s making money For the first time being honored at the All-Star, which has been his goal for some time, he notes why this season has come full circle in a certain way.
Last season with the Los Angeles Clippers, many considered Powell an All-Star snub as he excelled as an offensive punch for the team, especially when dealing with injuries to Kawhi Leonard and others.
Fast forward to this year, and Powell has shined for Miami, leading the way with 23 points per game, but the reason why he believes this “completes the story” is that the All-Star festivities are being held in his former home of Los Angeles.
“I think this completes the story,” Powell said, according to The Miami Herald. “I think it’s like something you can’t even write down or remember. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, the All-Star Game is in LA. Now I’m definitely trying to make it.’ I think it just happens that way.”
“I really thought I was going to be an All-Star last year with the team, and it didn’t happen,” Powell continued, referring to this time with the Clippers. “Moves are made, and then there’s a place where you’re just traded, and you get picked to be one and get back out there in front of the fans, in front of that organization. I think it’s just a nice little Easter egg in the story of my career.”
Either way, Powell is looking to help the Heat further as the team sits at 29-27, which puts them in the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
