Still, did Powell make it to the final round of the three-point competition?
The former Clippers star failed to make it to the finals. Devin Booker, Kon Knueppel, and Damian Lillard all stepped up. But again, Powell became the closest thing to LAC’s representative for the annual competition during all-star weekend.
Norman Powell saw a surge after the Clippers left

Powell became a fan favorite for the Clippers for four seasons – serving with the team from 2021 to 2025.
But he’s in the NBA All-Star Game for the Heat for the first time at the age of 32. His journey has grown into one of the feel-good stories this annual event.
Powell delivered All-Star caliber production during his time in Southern California. That included producing two seasons in which he topped the 20-point mark. But unfortunately, he has become noticeably disdainful for the 2021-22 and 2024-25 voting process.
“I think this completes the story,” Powell said, via the Miami Herald. “I think it’s like something you can’t even write down or remember. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, the All-Star Game is in LA. Now I’m definitely trying to make it.’ I think it just happens that way.”
Now he has become embraced in one of his past NBA homes.
