Watch Mac McClung recreate Phoenix’s famous dunk

in 2026 NBA All-Star Game the weekend brought nostalgia Mac McClung. The veteran did not participate in this year’s event as a member Chicago Bulls now. However, he still stole the spotlight – which he got Phoenix Suns fans thinking about Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire.

McClung helped publish a series of online videos after the ’26 slam dunk contest ended. The fourth, however, was reminiscent of the famous Nash-Stoudemire header.

Nash and Stoudemire created an epic football-like dunk back in the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, McClung literally became the first to repeat that dunk despite not joining the festivities in Inglewood.

McClung would likely enter the Intuit Dome as a heavy favorite to win again.

Except this year he decided to take a year off.

“I think it was just back and forth that we were like this, and then they called me, they were like ‘People didn’t want to do it if I was doing it,’ and I thought the best thing this year is to just sit back and let it be, no matter what,” McClung said.

In other words — McClung decided to let this year’s version become more competitive without him. Participants would face a sense of loss with McClung’s presence.

McClung has a two-way deal with the Bullswho signed on Feb. 5 at the NBA trade deadline. He can continue to bounce between the NBA and the G-League.

meanwhile, Keshad Johnson of the Miami Heat won this year’s slam dunk title with an assist from the famous rapper E-40.
