Kean Anthony talks about getting the bench

Kean Anthony has been one of the collegiate players that a lot of people have been following this season, and of course, that’s because he’s Carmelo Anthony’s son. at the same time, Kiian has skills, and he showed them this season with Syracuse. He was recently benched against Virginia, his first of the season, and many may have been confused by the coach’s decision.

Kiyan recently opened about the bench, and he shared that it helped him mature a lot.

“I talk to my dad all day every day,” Anthony said. “He’s been the main one telling me to stay in the gym, and it’s going to pay off. It can be hard sometimes, I’m still 18 years old… that’s what we do is we look at Instagram, we look at Twitter. This is the first time I’ve deleted stuff like that and just stayed away from everything.”

“I could have easily closed off, curled up in a ball. But I was ready… the gym was my safe and happy place.”

Being in the gym must have helped him, because he came back against SMU and scored 13 points off the bench.

“It’s all about the opportunity. And when you get the opportunity, you’ve got to go out there and you’ve just got to do everything you can to stay there,” Kean said after the game. “And I feel like I did a good job of that today and hopefully we can take a step in the right direction and keep this going.”

Kian is one of the most popular university playerssince he has been in the limelight for years. Instead of letting the outside noise consume him, he ran away from it, stayed low and focused on the game. After all, it helped him get back on track.
