Jaylen Brown is buzzing about a potential 1-on-1 All-Star

On Sunday night, The NBA All-Star Game will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, and Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is among the starters for the game. Leading up to this weekend, there has been plenty of talk about the perceived lack of effort players have put forth in recent All-Star games, and fans are hoping this year will be different.

One idea that’s been floated to spice up All-Star weekend is holding a one-on-one tournament between players, and recently Brown got 100% real in his excitement for that hypothetical event.

“There’s some guys that are here this weekend that I’d like to challenge. All of them. Luka (Doncic), Shai (Giljus-Alexander), (Jalen) Brunson, Donovan (Mitchell). I’d challenge them all one-on-one,” Brown said, per CelticsBlog’s Noah Dalzell on X, formerly Twitter.

While Brown may be excited for the challenge, there don’t appear to be enough players for the NBA to seriously consider making a one-on-one tournament a reality, as players are increasingly concerned about their brands and the damage a potential loss to another star could do.

Still, Brown has long been known as a true contender in the NBA today, having tried to help revive the dunk contest a few years ago by becoming the lone All-Star to compete in the event in recent years.

The Celtics star has played at a borderline MVP level for Boston so far this year, helping the team to far exceed expectations in the Eastern Conference despite playing without injured superstar Jayson Tatum, though there are rumors that Tatum’s return could come sooner rather than later.

Either way, the first of four 12-minute All-Star games is scheduled to take place Sunday at 5:00 PM ET from the Intuit Dome.
