LeBron James sounds off after retiring at NBA All-Star Game

One more year, LeBron James decided to keep his NBA All-Star press conference separate from the others, and of course, that led some people to believe that big news was coming. Just to get it out of the way early, James was asked what his retirement plans are will be, and he gave an answer that he gave the past few times.

“I want to live… When I know, you’ll know. I don’t know,” James said.

Honestly, it doesn’t look like James is focusing on retirement right now, as he’s still playing like he’s got a lot left in the tank. Just before the All-Star break, he recorded a triple-double in the Lakers’ victory against the Dallas Mavericks and became the oldest player in history to do so.

After the game, he talked about knowing when it’s time to put it down, and it’s more about falling in love with the process than his game declining.

“My game isn’t going anywhere,” James said, via Dave McMenamin . “It’s all other things, so many other factors that go into how long I play the game. I don’t think my game will ever suffer if I decide to continue, however much that may be. I just think it has to be (my mind): How long can I stay in love with the process?”

“If I can’t continue to stay in love with the process, if (my mind) goes, then my body goes. And when my body goes, then it’s a wrap.”

James still looks in great shape, and is putting up big stats even at his age. While he may know that his time to hang up his jersey may soon come, as long as he can get on the floor and give it his all, he’s putting the retirement stuff on the back burner.
