What LeBron James had to say about Israel’s Danny Avdia before the NBA All-Star Game

After Danny Avdija made history on 2026 NBA All-Star Game as the first Israeli player to make a game, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James talked about him and his aspirations to visit Israel.

Speaking to reporters, James praised Avdia. He stands by his opinion that Avdia deserves to be named an NBA All-Star for his game.

“I’ve already been quoted on Danny and asked what I thought of his season. I said I believe he’s an All-Star. He’s playing exceptional basketball,” enthused James.

He then spoke about the possibilities of visiting Israel. James hasn’t been, but he knows he has fans there. So it looks like it’s open for visits.

“I’ve never been there, but if I have fans there, I hope you’ve followed my career,” James said. “I hope to inspire people out there to not only want to be great in sports, but to be better in general, in life. I hope to make it there one day. I’ve heard nothing but great things.”

For the 22nd time in his career, James was named to the NBA All-Star team. He accomplished that every year from 2005 to 2026 and was named the All-Star Game MVP three times.

James was part of Team USA Stripes, teaming him with Jaylen Brunson, Jaylen Brown and Kevin Durant. He played six minutes of the championship game, scored five points and recorded four rebounds. However, he led the game with two turnovers.

Currently, James is in the midst of his eighth season with the Lakers. The Lakers are 33-21, which puts them in first place in the Pacific Division. They have the fifth best record in the Western Conference. James is currently averaging 22 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.
