OG Anunobi makes a painful revelation about toenail removal

The The New York Knicks were playing some much-improved basketball lately, entering the NBA trade deadline with nearly 50 points beat the Philadelphia 76ers. And the Anunobi has been out of the lineup in recent weeks due to injury, but new trade acquisition Jose Alvarado has helped hold down the fort in his absence.
Recently, Anunoby was brutally honest about what he had his toenail was removed.
“There’s a lot of pain. It’s an open wound,” Anunoby said, according to James L. Edwards III of Athletics on X, formerly Twitter.
However, he added that the injury is improving, and Edwards III reported that the forward practiced on Wednesday.
The Knicks are certainly a much better team with Anunoby in the lineup, with his defensive shooting and perimeter making him one of the best 3-and-D players in the league today.
Currently, the Knicks are in a battle with the Boston Celtics for the number two spot in the Eastern Conference, although the Cleveland Cavaliers may have something to say about that during the season, as they started to improve things after trading for James Harden. The Detroit Pistons are currently number one in the Eastern Conference by a wide margin.
When the Knicks are fully healthy, they have arguably the most talented team in the East, with Anunoby and Mikal Bridges capable of scoring big and Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns running the show.
It remains to be seen if the Knicks can overcome some of the defensive issues that plagued them during last year’s Eastern Conference finals loss to the Indiana Pacers, when the combination of Towns and Brunson was often played off the floor. A healthy Anunobia will certainly help in this regard.
The Knicks will next take the floor Thursday night against the Pistons at home.
