Tyler Herro is likely to return after missing 15 games with a rib injury
MIAMI – Ace Miami Heat star Tyler Hero has returned to training on Thursday, after missing the last 15 games with a rib injury, his status for Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks was likely revealed. With rumors are speculating when the Heat guard in Hero will returnthe answer seems to be resolved by the injury report.
Miami lists Herro as “probably” for Friday’s game as the team travels to play the Hawks, marking a significant moment for the guard who has missed not only the last 15 games due to injury, but has sat out 45 games this year.
He would miss the first 17 games of the season with an ankle injury in the offseason, then 13 outings with a sprained toe and an injury listed as “Right Costochondral; Rib Injury.” As for his role with the team in his first game since Jan. 15, he was asked Thursday afternoon if he would come off the bench, having returned from a sprained toe on Jan. 6 but then started after that contest.
“I don’t know, we’ll see what happens if i can play tomorrow. “Whatever minutes I get, I’m happy to be back here, playing with my teammates and playing the game that I ultimately love,” Hero said.

Herro would tell ClutchPoints that he broke three ribs, and while he played three games off the Torodol shooting to deal with the pain, he would not play that way the entire season, leading to the absence.
In the 11 games he played, Hero averaged 21.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Warmth Erik Spoelstra on Tyler Hero returning to the rotation

While it is The heat comes after the All-Star breakthe team is still looking for a level of consistency, as injuries have been one of the issues plaguing the team, such as Herro’s absence. Whatever role he finds himself in when Herro returns, there’s no denying the offensive impact he brings with head coach Erik Spoelster saying how “encouraging” it was to see the quarterback return to practice at full power.
“But it’s been very encouraging to have Tyler here at practice. You know, he’s done everything he’s needed to do the last few weeks to prepare for this. And it’s encouraging to have him back in the mix. We’re all excited about that,” Spoelstra said.

With 26 games left in the season, Spoelstra will look for ways to get the best out of Herro, especially alongside Norman Powell and Bam Adebayoas the trio have only played together in eight games this season. While that means less playing time for any player on the roster, Spoelstra would say he has “levels of sacrifice” which should be made.
“Let’s not forget, Tyler is a talent,” Spoelstra said. “We’ve got to maximize our rotations, we need our talent; we’re going to have to put it together quickly. We know what our identity is on both ends of the floor; our guys have buy-in for what we’re trying to do. There’s going to be some level of sacrifice throughout the rotation. That’s the way it has to be if all the guys are available.”
