Purdue basketball star Braden Smith reacts perfectly to the girl’s drawing

The The Purdue basketball team defeated Indiana on Friday. After the game, the little girl presented Boilermakers star guard Braden Smith with a drawing she made. Smith was excited to receive the gift and showed it to the media.

A video has gone viral about the Purdue star showing the drawing to the press and his teammates. FOX College Hoops shared the video on social media. The picture was of Smith and some of his teammates.

The Boilermakers beat Indiana on Friday, 93-64. Smith scored 15 points for his Purdue team. Purdue improved to 22-5 on the season with the win.

Smith is averaging 14.9 points per game, 8.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game this season. He had multiple 20-point games this season for the Boilermakers.

Indiana fell to 17-10 on the season with the loss.

Purdue basketball looks to end the season with a strong statement

The Boilermakers improved to 12-4 in the Big Ten with the win. Purdue is in third place in the conference standingsbehind Illinois and Michigan.

Boilermakers head coach Matt Painter was happy with his team’s win on Friday. His team just suffered a very disappointing loss to Michigan.

“Not being able to win the Big Ten championship was tough … I thought it was a great comeback for our guys,” Painter told VISH-TV.

Purdue’s win on Friday was one for the record books.

“The Boilermakers snapped their two-game losing streak against the Hoosiers in emphatic fashion by posting their biggest series scoring total since 94 in 1998. It was also their biggest series win since a 44-point shellacking in 1969,” the Associated Press reported.

The Boilermakers have been one of the Big Ten’s strongest programs in recent years. Painter went to the 2024 Final Four with Purdue and lost in the national championship game that year. The coach has been working at the school since 2005.

Purdue basketball’s next game is Thursday at Michigan State. The Boilermakers have now won five of their last six games.
