Why Jayson Tatum’s Pic Goes Viral Amidst Injury Recovery

Jayson TatumHis return to court is looming. The Boston Celtics are currently the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons, with an attempt to overtake them before the regular season ends. The Celtics would love home court advantage during the playoffs, and with Tatum back, they’d have a ton of momentum.

Tatum was coming back from an Achilles injury. These injuries are happening more and more often, but few have managed to come back as a better player. Tatum is trying to defy the odds.

The Celtics released several pictures of Tatum at practice on Saturday and a picture of him going viral as he he defended Luca Garza.

There haven’t been many pictures or videos of Tatum playing against contact at all. He is present at games and has been in training for a long time, but the superstar is still improving. There have been no legitimate reports of him returning this regular season, but if the Celtics really want him back this season, then it makes sense to make his debut before the playoffs.

Chris Haynes revealed what Tatum told him recently. “I’m trying to come back … I don’t know if that’s the case,” Tatum told Haynes.

Tatum tore his Achilles tendon in May 2025, so a return in less than a year would be incredible for him. The playoffs don’t start until mid-April, so there’s still plenty of time for Tatum to come back and make a final decision on whether he’ll return this season or next.
