Fans in shock after Cameron Boozer’s night

Michigan basketball fall into the top 25 by Sunday, all after seeing Cameron Boozer take over. The Duke freshman took the soul out of the No. 1-ranked Wolverines 68-63 on Saturday night in Washington

Boozer hit a key 3-pointer with less than two minutes remaining to ensure the momentum stayed on Duke’s side. He even earned a comparison to “the terminator”.

Boozer later played mind games with Michigan’s deep and talented defense — showing off his court vision but making the Wolverines think he was going to shoot. Boozer’s eyes helped identify the back door behind the Wolverines.

Boozer finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists — while leaving Michigan fans reeling.

Jaakel Landenborg was put on the spot about what it was like babysitting Boozer.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello called Boozer “the best player in the country when it mattered” on social media website Ksformerly Twitter. meanwhile, one fan site dropped an even harsher line about the son of a former NBA All-Star.

“Under the bright lights of DC, Cameron Boozer silenced the arena with a dagger triple. His father, Carlos, watched from the stands. Legacies are not inherited; they are claimed in real time. Duke’s championship DNA is alive and well,” the account read.

But some Michigan fans have become more ruthless toward the Wolverines head coach Dustin May and their stellar center.

“Michigan played bad basketball. Spacing was crap, guards didn’t play well, (Today) Mara has to stay on his feet without fouling, can’t stay on the floor, 7’3 should dominate in the paint,” said a fan on the Michigan basketball player’s X account.

However, another fan, became more honest about the Wolverines.

“I know Michigan fans will disagree, but Duke was the better team tonight. Michigan can obviously still go all the way and is still an elite team, but these guards are still questionable,” said the fan.

May called the “timely mistakes” that led to Michigan’s loss. But this rare non-conference showdown ahead of March Madness provided a Final Four-type feeling — with Boozer shining.
