In an upset-filled NCAA night, BIU d’AJ Dibantsthough 23rd in the AP rankings, he took the scalp (79-69) ofIowa Stateranked as the 6th best college team right now.
The victory was marked by the great performance of the “prospect”, announced in the Top 3 of the next draft, who flirted with a triple-double with 29 points on 10/17 shooting, 10 rebounds and 9 assists.
“Every night he shows how reliable he is”he explained Kevin YoungBIU coach. “He played well on both ends of the court… I think it was his most complete game of the season.”
AJ Dibantsa also seems particularly successful against opponents ranked in the AP Top 10. “AJ can do whatever he wants on the basketball court. Whatever he decides, he can do.”Kevin Young continued. And Iowa State coach TJ Otzelberger couldn’t agree more.
“Obviously, he’s a very tough player to defend. I mean…His size, his ball-handling skills, his ability to pass and create opportunities, to find the right shooting zones and score baskets, it’s all really unique.”he fired. “He’s on par with anybody in the country, that’s for sure.”
Enough to allow him to be the first pick in the 2026 draft? for now, it always is Darrin Peterson who holds the rope despite ongoing physical problems with Kansas.
