Tyrese Maxey and the Sixers have fun against the Wolves
Starting for the first time in his young career, Joan Beringer shines in the first minutes of the game, with his energy and activity, as a rhythmic first quarter in favor of the Sixers. The latter very quickly find a way to the basket on 3 points and take the lead (26-35).
This is confirmed at 5/5 to start the second quarter as Wolves lose a lot of possession. Certainly, Anthony Edwards and then Donte Di Vincenzo limit the damage with winning baskets, but that does not turn the tide of things (58-68).
Especially since the problem of wasted possession is not solved after the break. Tyrese Maxey takes off and makes baskets. Chris Finch’s men are on the ropes (78-94). VJ Edgecombe and Quentin Grimes hit 3-pointers before the benches opened for the final minutes. A more than logical victory for Philadelphia (108-135), which ends the streak after four straight losses, while Minnesota ends three straight wins.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Joan Beringer’s mandate. Naz Reed hit the shoulder and Rudy Gobert suspendedThe Frenchman had the right to start an NBA game for the first time in his career. In 17 minutes, he collected 7 points with 2/2 shooting and 3 rebounds. As always, he was very energetic and willing. But, as always, he paid for too many mistakes. He already had three after just five minutes, and will finish with a total of six, so on the bench.
3 point difference. Shooting an excellent 21/37 in practice (57% success), the Sixers were abominable. Quentin Grimes finished with 5/8, VJ Edgecombe and Tirese McKay with 6 and 4 success in seven attempts. Not forgetting Kelly Oubre Jr., who adds three. In short, it fell on all sides. For Minnesota, 10/33 doesn’t fall too hard.
A very, very sloppy copy for Wolves. However, Chris Finch’s players didn’t just lose this game behind the 3-point line. 20 Lost Balloons also has a weight to it, especially with certain sequences that are quite horrific, even comical, as the waste and de-concentration was immense. The best player on his team, Anthony Edwards lost seven balls when Julius Randle, who had to go to a big game to make up for the absence of Gobert and Reed, was too discreet with 18 points and only ten attempts.
