Halliburton is dealing with shingles while rehabbing an Achilles injury
Herculean campaign 2024-25 Tyrese Halliburton drag the Indiana Pacers all the way to the NBA Finalswhere he suffered an Achilles injury that caused him to miss the current season. Regardless, things got a little worse as the two-time All-Star has now been diagnosed with shinglesa viral condition that is expected to keep him out of the squad for a period of ‘two to three weeks’.
“It’s a very painful thing. He’ll probably make a full recovery. “He was meeting with us in Washington and had some strange symptoms. It’s a unique case, a unique situation … but he’s always in a good mood, so he’ll get through it,” head coach Rick Carlisle said said Fr Halliburton’s condition, according to IndiStar.
Carlisle went on to communicate Halliburton’s importance to the team, claiming that it’s “extremely difficult for the Pacers to try to survive at a high level without a guy like that.
Indiana enters Sunday at 15-43 and has only one player, Pascal Siakam, averaging more than 20 points per game.
The Pacers are virtually devoid of their offensive engine. Besides being the best playmaker on the team, Halliburton was also always capable of scoring from any range at any time.
In his absence, Indiana has added to its team-first system with Benedict Maturin and Andrew Nembhard averaging around 17 points per game. While the latest diagnosis has no impact on Halliburton’s overall timeline, the 25-year-old is undoubtedly going through a painful period.
The Pacers are tied for 15th in the Eastern Conference and on track for a lottery pick, and are likely already looking ahead to next season, and Haliburton is also ready to return. For now, they are riding a three-game losing streak and will next play against the Philadelphia 76ers.
