Bill Simmons thinks LeBron is disgusted by Luka Doncic’s ‘violation’
On Sunday night, The Los Angeles Lakers have regressed into the loss column with a tough loss at home to hands of the Boston Celtics. Luka Dončić he put 25 points on the board in this one, but wasn’t particularly efficient in doing so, shooting 9-22 from the field and collecting just three assists.
Throughout the evening, Doncic could be seen throwing his hands up and complaining to the referees, as well as apparently floating in an attempt to get calls, which drew a line of sneers on social networks.
Most recently, The Ringer’s Bill Simmonsa famous Celtics fan, got involved in the drama.
“Stupid stuff is the worst it’s been in a while,” Simmons said, per MrBuckBuck on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s so bad that even LeBron is like, ‘Wow, this guy is really a dick to call.’ But I don’t think it helps them.”
James has been known to embellish a foul or two during his illustrious career, but even his antics have never come close to the acrobatic routines that Doncic puts out in an attempt to draw calls on a nightly basis.
This issue has been noted for Doncic dating back to his days with the Dallas Mavericks, as has his penchant for mercilessly arguing with referees, and at certain times threatens to overshadow the brilliance he’s able to achieve on the basketball court, which doesn’t have to rely on fake bait.
Meanwhile, Lakers fans’ concerns about Austin Reaves’ ability to play against good defenses were vindicated by his play Sunday night, as well as the lack of viable perimeter defenders.
Los Angeles is currently 34-22 on the season and will have to fight to stay in the top six in the West during the season.
The Lakers will next take the floor on Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic at 10:30 PM ET.
