Davion Mitchell, Nikola Jovic’s status against the Bucks in question

As it is The Miami Heat outlasted the Memphis Grizzlies in their showdown 136-120 on Saturday night, the team looks to extend its three-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. With Heat watching to avoid the tournament in the game and climbs the Eastern Conference standings, the team gets some important injury information for Tuesday.

Miami practiced on the Monday before the trip, as everyone else did Davion Mitchell and Nikola Jovicas both missed Saturday’s aforementioned win over the Grizzlies. Mitchell is dealing with illness as Jovic suffered a lower back injury, who will go to the doctor to check the weightaccording to Anthony Chang of the Miami Herald.

“It remains to be seen if he will travel to Milwaukee with the team today for tomorrow’s game against the Bucks. Jovic went to the doctor today for his back,” Chang wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Mitchell was a mainstay in the Heat’s starting lineup as the primary point guard, while Jovic usually came off the bench but struggled for much of the year. The news stings since Miami got healthier with the return of star Tyler Hero, ace Norman Powell echoed after the victory on Saturday that the team “we are beginning to engage in collective efforts.”

“I think obviously we’re finally healthy, we didn’t have (Mitchell) tonight, but I think it’s the healthiest we’ve been all year, and we just want to continue to build that chemistry and do all the little things to help us get these games out and not have a slip and continue to focus on our goal to get out there (tournament play).

In any case, it remains to be seen what the status of Mitchell and Jovic is.
