Rui Hachimura on offense against Celtics, where to improve

Although a lot has been done, Fr Los Angeles Lakers‘ Defensive problems this season, yes their offense that let them down during their 111-89 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday. It was the second-lowest point total the Lakers have had this season, and after Monday’s practice, Rui Hachimura talked about where the team is needed to see improvement on the offensive end, according to Lou Murray of the Athletics.

One of the lineups the Lakers played against the Celtics was a small lineup consisting of Hachimura, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves and Luke Kennard.

“I think it’s a faster offense and it allows us to shoot more 3-pointers … That’s one of the lineups we’re looking for, 3-point shooters and a faster offense in transition. It opens up the floor,” Hachimura said. “To be physical. It’s a smaller lineup, so be physical, especially on the rebound. Everybody has to rebound.”

The Lakers have a chance to erase the bitter taste of the Celtics loss with another home game on Tuesday against the Orlando Magic.

For Hachimura, he adapts to a different situation rather than the one he was in when the season started. He was one of the Lakers’ starting power forwards, but since returning from a calf injury in mid-January, he has been part of the team’s second unit.

In 15 games off the bench, Hachimura is averaging 9.4 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 45 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from the 3-point line and 69.2 percent from the free throw line. That’s a slight drop from his starting averages of 12.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 52.7 percent shooting from the field and 45.7 percent shooting from the 3-point line.
