Jalen Duren throws a poster at Victor Vembanyama



In a possible NBA Finals matchup, Detroit Pistons on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs. As of publication, the Pistons trailed by double digits midway through the fourth quarter. But the Pistons big man Jalen Duren he had the highlight of the night in the NBA, throwing a poster dunk on the Spurs star Victor Vembanyama.

The play came early in the fourth quarter when Cade Cunningham took a handoff from Jalen Duren, saw Duren lurking at the dunk spot and hit him with a pass as he proceeded to rise and throw a poster dunk on an unsuspecting Victor Vembanyama. It was an impressive feat considering Vembanyama’s length and size and his reputation as one of the best defenders in the league.

13 overall in the 2022 NBA draft this season was a sort of coming out party for Duren. He was recently selected for his first career All-Star appearanceand his play was a big reason why the Pistons hold the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Entering Monday’s game, Duren had appeared in 45 games for the Pistons, logging just over 27 minutes per game. He had career averages of 17.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 63 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line.

The Pistons look to avoid snapping their five-game winning streak as they face the Spurs. They are currently 42-13 and atop the Eastern Conference standings.
