Colin Cowherd outplayed Luka Doncic due to lack of chemistry with LeBron James

With the basketball world wondering when The Los Angeles Lakers are about to peaksports analyst Colin Cowherd he would call out a superstar Luka Dončić for the reason why. Doc Lakers coach JJ Redick took charge for some of the team’s problems, Cowherd would blame Doncic in a myriad of areas, including chemistry with LeBron James.

So far this season, Doncic has averaged 32.8 points, 8.5 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from the field. Cowherd would still say on his show “The Herd” that the trade in Los Angeles for Doncic “is still not going that week,” adding that his “athleticism is regressing.”

“We’re a year into the Luke trade. It’s still not doing so well. It can’t be this long,” Cowherd said. “It’s not up to 41-year-old LeBron to make it happen. It’s up to Luka to make it happen. And two things can be true: The Lakers stole him from the Mavs. It was a great trade. And two, he’s aging fast. The numbers don’t lie. Now he gets four times as many tricks as dunks.”

“His athleticism is regressing,” Cowherd continued. “People said, well, he’s Larry Bird. No Bird made every defense three times. Larry Bird made every teammate he ever played with better. We’re a year into Luca and the Lakers. It still doesn’t work. How long can it last? Everybody plays well with LeBron, Austin Reeves is not a ball player. He’s a hard worker with the ball. Free.”

Either way, the Lakers are 34-22, which puts them in fifth place in the Western Conference, as the team’s next game is Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic.
