A fan dresses up as a real alien for Victor Vembanyama’s warm-up

Someone needs to phone home. A fan made a stop at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday until they support Victor Vembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs against the Toronto Raptors, and he did something extra.

Alien, that is.

The fan wore an alien costume as a nod to Vembanyama’s nickname, as shown in a video posted by TheScore on Ks. To look less suspicious and blend in better with the crowd, the fan also wore the two-time All-Star’s jersey.

Vembanjama, who led the Spurs to a 41-16 record heading into their game against the Raptors, has been compared to an alien β€” as a compliment β€” because his physique and skill set seem almost unreal compared to typical players.

With Vembanjama’s otherworldly blend of size, talent and mobilityhe’s almost impossible to stop β€” and it’s scary to think he’s only 22 years old.

He accepted being called an alien as his brand. His logo for his signature shoes with Nike is an alien head, drawn by Vembanyama himself.

LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is largely responsible for giving the nickname to Vembanyama, who, in turn, loved it.

“I’m really glad he said that because I didn’t like being called a unicorn. I like it because it’s something out of this world. I like being called an alien. That’s really what I’m working to be, something unique and original,” the 7-foot-4 center said, according to a report by Sports Illustrated’s Andy Nesbitt.

Vembanyama’s popularity grew exponentially since the Spurs drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2023, and many believe he’s already the face of the NBA.

If not, from another planet, definitely.
