Kevin Porter Jr

The Milwaukee Bucks are turning a corner, at least from head coach Doc Rivers’ perspective, and have gone 7-3 so far in the calendar month of February. This uptick in form may fuel some hope that they could, perhaps, be on the court for a place in the tournament – just in time for Final return of Giannis Antetokounmpo from calf injury.

On Wednesday night, the Bucks had a golden opportunity to extend their solid streak of late as they faced a rested Cleveland Cavaliers team Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and James Harden on opening night consecutive set. And while the Cavs remain a dangerous team even without those three, the Bucks are struggling with Kevin Porter Jr. doing everything he could to wake up his team.

With the Bucks still leading in the third quarter, Porter was able to step on a man who shares the same last name as Craig Porter Jr., causing the Cavs defense to go into scramble mode. With Porter making a head of steam, Jarrett Allen late in trying to challenge a ferocious dunk from guard Bucks, who caused an eruption of the crowd at the Fiserv Forum.

These Bucks for the second night in a row, which wasn’t obvious given how much Porter skied for that poster above Allen. Last night, Milwaukee outlasted the Miami Heat, using an 11-0 run late in the game to run away from an Eastern Conference team currently in eighth place in the standings.

Now, the Bucks are currently neck and neck with the Cavs, which is a testament to their resilience and excellent fitness level. At the time of writing, the game is tied and anything can still happen in the last few minutes.
