Victor Wembanyama reveals the reasons behind the ugly night against the Raptors
Victor Vembanyama explained why he himself did not follow his fights in San Antonio Spurs match against Toronto Raptors on Wednesday evening.
Vembanjama is going through the third season of his NBA career with the Spurs. He made huge strides as a superstar, elevating the Spurs to serious playoff contention.
However, as a young star, he would sometimes have off nights. San Antonio’s duel with Toronto proved to be that. In 30 minutes of action, Vembanyama finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, three assists and a steal. However, he shot 3-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
From meat reflected on his night off after the game, according to reporter Michael Grange. He cited the time zone changes and lack of recovery time as contributing to him not playing his best since Toronto.
“I didn’t recover tonight, with all the weather changes, coming from LA, coming from Detroit late… I have to do a better job, heal, sleep. I couldn’t sleep last night. I wasn’t in shape today,” Wembanyama said.
