Drew Brees is leading one of five groups trying to buy San Diego

The San Diego Padres they are looking for new ownership. The Sidler family announced the sale of the team last November, and five groups reportedly made initial offers to buy the team. Two of those groups are the owners of the Premier League for Chelsea and Everton.
On Thursday, Dennis Lynn of the Athletics announced that Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees there is partnered with the founder from Vouri, and they are one of five groups that made an initial bid.
“Joe Kudla, owner and CEO of Carlsbad, Calif.-based Vuori, has teamed with Drew Brees, who began his decorated NFL career with the San Diego Chargers, in pursuit of the Padres, according to industry sources who spoke on condition of anonymity to speak freely about the sale of the franchise. The first day was the source of the offer to sell the franchise. He said other suitors include Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob and English Premier League owner Jose E. Feliciano, two a potential buyer whose interest in the Padres was previously reported.
“Kudla, a University of San Diego alum, founded Woori in 2015. The sports entertainment brand hit a $5.5 billion valuation more than a year ago and branched out into major professional sports last summer, announcing endorsement deals with British tennis stars Jack Draper and Detroit Lions quarterback Goffback.”
The Seidler family is hoping to make north of $3 billion for the team, and they want to do it well before a potential lockout hits next offseason. The Padres were purchased in 2012 for $800 million by the late Peter Seidler and his partner Ron Fowler. Fowler was a big part of Manny Machado landing in San Diego.
Drew Brees is a Padres fan. He attended many games wearing a Padres jersey and has lived in San Diego for years. He started his football career in San Diego before being traded to New Orleans Saints. Although he spent a lot of time in New Orleans, San Diego is special to Brees, and he would make a great team owner.
