Here’s what Jason Kidd had to say about reaching the historic coaching feat

The Dallas Mavericks they have a challenging campaign, but there are still some things to be thankful for.

for one, Cooper Flagg was as good as advertisedand the Mavericks decided to make him a central team. The 20-year-old rookie has already set multiple records in his young career, and will only get better as he progresses in Dallas.

Another positive note: the coach Jason Kidd earned his 200th win with the Mavericks after they beat the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

Kidd, who has been in charge for Dallas since 2021, was proud to join others who paved the way for him, as he mentioned in a video posted by Abbi Jones of DLLS Sports.

“It’s a compliment to the players. But also, to go with (Rick) Carlisle, (Don) Nelson and (Dick) Mott. They’re legends. When you look at future Hall of Famers, Dick Mott should be in the Hall of Fame, Carlyle will be in the Hall of Fame, so you understand that they’re in the Hall of Fame, Nellie you understand that they’re just in the Hall of Fame. with those guys is a huge honor,” Kidd said.

The 52-year-old Kidd’s tenure with the Mavericks, whom he helped win a championship in 2011, has been anything but smooth. He had to manage the change of ownership, that is Luka Dončić’s shocking exitinjuries to Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving, and controversy over former general manager Nick Harrison’s tenure, among other challenges.

Still, he was largely effective, guiding the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals.

Even while he was still playing, many predicted that Kidd would be perfect as a coach, praising his high IQ, leadership and wisdom.
