Will Khris Middleton be able to find a playoff team?
Last days future of Chris Middleton it’s in Dallas. The winger is faced with an important choice: stay to play with the big brothers in the locker room or go play the playoffs elsewhere. The Mavericks agree to leave the decision to the 34-year-old veteran.
However, to qualify for the playoffs, you must leave your team before Sunday and March 1st. And for now, nothing indicates with certainty that the champion will leave in 2021.
“I will talk to my agent until Saturday to hear what he has to say”, the player confirmed this thursday. “I don’t know which teams are really in the standings. I trust him to educate himself and present me with options. Then we’ll talk about it.”
The whole question is: Does a playoff team really want, or need, a Khris Middleton who is no longer the three-time All-Star he was? It’s not safe at all. This could benefit the Mavericks, who see him as the perfect mentor for Cooper Flagg.
“I talk to him a lot about what he could do to help Cooper”explains Jason Kidd. “He feels like he can’t help because Cooper is already ahead of him. He has such a sense of humor. With his experience, it’s good for Flagg to work with Chris.”
“He’s amazing”the former Bucks player confides about his young 19-year-old teammate, who ended up having a great first season in the NBA on an individual level. “He’s doing a lot of good things at such a young age. He’s dominant and a lot of people want to test him. He passes all the tests very well.”
