NHL 26 Update 1.5 adds HC Rick Bones and more

EA Sports NHL 26 Update 1.5 arrived this week, and the patch notes mention the addition of Blue Jackets’ HC Rick Bovness to the game. Furthermore, the update brings even more fixes for modes like Be A Pro, World of Chel and more. In addition, the developers have updated some of the uniforms for different teams, adding neat new features to VoC. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.

Blue Jackets HC Rick Bowness Joins NHL 26 in Update 1.5 – Full Patch Notes

All in all, the biggest change in NHL 26 update 1.5 is the addition of a new Columbus Blue Jackets Head Coach Rick Bones. The newest Blue Jackets coach added to the game can now be seen in modes like Franchise and more.

Bones became head coach after the team parted ways with Dave Evason. Before joining the team, the Blue Jackets were on the verge of average, with a record of 19-19-7. Since Bowness came out of retirement to join the team, they have gone 10-2. The team was on a seven game winning streak until last night when they lost to the Boston Bruins.

However, Bowness’ experience is currently second to none. He has more games as a head or assistant coach than anyone else in league history. And he could be just what Columbus needs to make a serious move this season.

His 2,726 games as an NHL head or assistant coach are the most in league history.

  • Fixed an issue where the game was not recognizing the correct status for the ‘Goalie Pull’ feature, sometimes showing Goalie Pull turned on in the settings and constantly emptying the grid after turning it on and back.

  • Fixed an issue where the “Win the President’s Trophy – Part 4” challenge was showing an incorrect challenge
  • Fixed a rare issue where users were not getting challenges to advance in line
  • Fixed an issue where goalie responses were available to skaters in the “Win the Division” challenge media chat
  • Fixed an issue where the camera was obstructed from certain angles in the Utah Mammoth home arena

Game modes

  • Fixed an issue where national anthems were not playing during pre-game introductions
  • Fixed an issue where the subtitle for NHL 3-pointers was displayed incorrectly in the main menu

World Chel

  • Added connection indicator when searching for games in VoC lobbies
  • Added the ability for players entering the game to request to join clubs directly from the locker room screen
  • Added the ability to see player fill text on the player summary screen after the game
  • The career statistics page has been refreshed to show more relevant and organized statistics for users
  • Fixed an issue where users would receive an error message when equipping the 8-bit NHL pack
  • Fixed an issue where users would receive an error while tabbing to the report content screen
  • Fixed an issue where users receive an error popup while trying to send friend requests through the EA layer
