Mo Bamba returns to jazz
The unhappiness of some makes for the happiness of others, and the carnage that Jazz is enduring internally will allow that Mo Bamba to get a new opportunity to prove himself in the NBA. Sixth pick in the 2018 draft. 27-year-old pivot signed ten-day contract with the Salt Lake City franchise.
Since his departure from Orlando three years ago, Mo Bamba has had a string of failures, with the Lakers, the Sixers, and last season with the Clippers and then with the Pelicans, lasting ten days. His final experience with the Raptors this season was arguably his worst as he was cut just a week after being signed on January 7th. It’s time for him to play two short matches in six minutes of play at the end…
Favorable environment
His arrival in Utah, however, gives him a great opportunity to show what he’s capable of again, within a team that will have to tinker for the rest of the season. While Walker Kessler, Jusuf Nurkic and Jaren Jackson Jr. are already sidelined, Lauri Markkanen was also injured in training.
Mo Bamba arrives in a favorable context as he spent a good portion of the preseason with Will Hardy’s men before being cut to join the Salt Lake City Stars of the G-League, with whom he averaged 17.7 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes in 20 games.
He’ll also be in good physical condition after coming off an 18-point, 14-rebound game against the Mexico City Capitanes on Wednesday. Enough to facilitate his integration, on and off the field.
