Mavericks humiliated again at home

Worthy representatives of the “tank show”, Grizzlies and Mavericks offered a sad spectacle, and Cam Spencer’s partners dominate from start to finish at the American Airlines Center (124-105), to end a series of three defeats in a row.
From the start, the Mavericks showed their struggles offensively. In comparison, Dallas is making just 6 of its 24 shots (25%) and is off to a 2-of-10 start from 3-point range. The attack is static, without rhythm, and struggles to generate clean shots. Meanwhile, Memphis is adjusting its game. Cam Spencer, coming off the bench, sets the tone as the Grizzlies take advantage of opposing turnovers to score in transition. The Texans scored only 20 points in the first quarter and were already chasing the score (34-20).
Dallas briefly pulls back to within eight (44-36) on a game-winning layup by Miles Kelly. This would be their last real close encounter. Memphis then went on a 20-8 run to end the first period and returned to the locker room with a twenty-point lead (64-44). The visitors are shooting 50%, handing out 15 assists and regularly finding open shots, while Dallas is shooting 33% on a terrible 3/15 from distance. Only Brandon Williams and Khris Middleton are trying to limit the damage.
When we come back from the locker room, the script doesn’t change. Memphis continues to attack the rim and turn Texas turnovers into easy baskets. The lead increased to 34 points twice in the third quarter. The Grizzlies also overcame the battle for rebounds and second chances, calmly managing to take a big 19-point lead (124-105) in the final quarter.
WHAT TO REMEMBER
The Mavericks let go. Cooper Flagg is in the infirmary and it would be a disservice to him to get him back in the game. The Mavericks are in G-League or Summer League mode, and there are no lessons from this end of the season. And there are still more than 20 games left to play.
Olivier-Maccence Prosper appears. Against his former partners, the winger scored an excellent double-double. Holder, he played a large part in the first-round knockout with his offensive opportunism and defensive activity.
